Job Introduction:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Regional Engineering Manager in our Operations team to cover the South East area of England including London and surrounding areas.

The Regional Engineering Manager is responsible for the service provision of a range of integrated electronic security and fire safety systems.  The successful candidate will be expected to manage an engineering workforce to gain the most productive operational output, delivering an excellent quality of service to all end users of the Engineering Team.

The position will work alongside an existing team of engineering managers covering GB & NI areas reporting directly to the Head of Engineering. 

This is a remote based position but will require close working relationships with our Operational support teams based out of Tewkesbury.

The package for this position will include a company car for travelling throughout the job region.

Role Responsibility:

  • Managing the completion of PPM’s in the timeframes set down by both the company and NSI standards.
  • Effectively management of ‘failed to fix’ service calls, limiting downtime of customer equipment.
  • Identifying the profitability of existing and new service agreements and managing effectively.
  • Producing new service agreements when required or processing terminations and / or alterations to existing agreements in a cost effective way.
  • Achieving accurate stock records of equipment held by engineers, carrying out 6 monthly checks and monitoring of overstock / bad stock on a frequent basis.
  • Ensuring engineers are working in a productive and efficient manner
  • Maintain the highest standards of quality across service maintenance works and installations.
  • Complying with Company and NSI guidelines at all times
  • Ensuring Health and Safety procedures are followed at all times in line with current requirements.  
  • Management of minor installations from contractual processing, to system sign off.
  • Rectification of project overspends for future learning.
  • Liasing with Sales, System Design and Technical departments to ensure downtime of customer systems is kept to a minimum.
  • Establishing a close working relationship with the customer service centre to provide excellent service delivery.
  • Dealing with customers and contractors at a local / site level and attend to enquires.
  • Carrying out annual engineering performance reviews and manage through any development needs.
  • To ensure that the Company’s vehicle policies are observed and company policy is used responsibly
  • Authorisation of engineer’s timesheets & expenses is submitted on time
  • Processing of supplier’s and sub-contractor’s invoices.
  • Responding to all communications within an appropriate time.

The Ideal Candidate:

Essential Requirements

  • Engineering qualification or experience in fire & security installation and service.
  • Previous “hands on” experience of the installation and / or servicing of fire & security systems.
  • Managing and effective team of engineers.
  • Highly computer literate with‘Intermediate’ knowledge of applications such as MS Office.
  • Wide ranging business awareness.
  • Highly presentable.
  • 5 years checkable work history
  • Unrestricted right to work in the UK/EU
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Practical / able to employ initiative.
  • Dynamic team player.
  • Strong financial acumen.
  • Able to follow procedures.
  • Impeccable integrity
  • Excellent reliability.
  • Ability to remain focused and driven under pressure.
  • Current / valid driving licence.
  • Willingness to travel nationally

Preference will be given to candidates who also meet the following:

Ideal Requirements

  • Qualified electrical / electronics engineer / electrician.
  • Operational management of a service engineering team in the F&S systems industry.
  • Knowledge of multiple access, CCTV, intruder and fire safety systems.
  • ‘Basic’ knowledge of MS Project and AutoCAD.
  • Proven leadership qualities.
  • Potential for progression.
