Role Responsibility:

The Commercial and Supply Chain Manager will serve as a senior management team member for a strategic customer account, leading the customer and supply chain commercial agenda. The Commercial and Supply Chain Manager will ensure that activities on the account are carried out effectively and in accordance with contractual requirements, as well as wider company policies and procedures. The customer contract involves the provision of hard and soft facilities management services via a PFI service agreement to a large and complex customer site, with regular changes in service requirements, as well as, project works. The successful candidate will need to work closely with Operational Management and the customer as well as liaising with a range of wider internal and external stakeholders.

Reporting to the Commercial Director the main responsibilities of this role include:

  • Leading the customer and supply chain commercial agenda for the contract, ensuring auditable commercial and procurement activities are carried out effectively and in accordance with the customer contract and wider company policies
  • Ensuring that key commercial aspects of the customer contract are understood by Operational Management and that plans are in place for ensuring the successful commercial outcomes on the customer contract
  • Providing contractual and commercial advice to Operational Management
  • Working closely with the customer and Operational Management to review, manage and/or draft contract variations
  • Liaising with Finance to ensure management of the annual budget cycle and provide advice on the impact of Commercial and Procurement matters
  • Supporting analysis and negotiations for contractual benchmarking and price indexation exercises
  • Refining and strengthening contract management processes
  • Managing and driving the interface between the Account team and the G4S Regional Procurement function
  • Negotiating independently within given boundaries or in conjunction with other stakeholders, and communicating outcomes and any operational or commercial actions to relevant stakeholders
  • Leading on the development and management of contract records management, contractual performance reporting and risk registers for the customer and sub-contractors
  • Providing the Account Director with insights, recommendations and analytics support.

The Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate will hold an IACCM, CIPS or QS qualification along with relevant experience. They will have demonstrable knowledge and experience of commercial contract forms and imperatives. Ideally, the successful candidate will have the ability to develop and articulate commercial and procurement business cases for executive level approvals, along with the ability to negotiate on high “value at stake” issues. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong commercial awareness, excellent interpersonal awareness and influencing skills and a focus on delivering results.

Due to the nature of this contract, the candidate must have the ability to gain DV level security clearance.
