Job Introduction:

G4S Specialist Training division based in Hereford are seeking an experienced chef who will undertake the day to day running of the kitchen including, ordering supplies, setting the menus and preparation and serving 3 meals per day for our residential course candidates and staff ensuring that the kitchen and all equipment is maintained.

The ability to work to a set budget is essential.  The rotation between staff is flexible but you must be prepared to work an average of 40 hours per week flexibly (to include some weekends).

Role Responsibility:

  • Preparing menus - 3 meals per day
  • Ordering supplies and ensuring stocks are maintained
  • Preparing, presenting and serving meals
  • Ensuring cleanliness of kitchen and associated areas
  • Controlling the set budget and ensuring the kitchen is maintained effectively within those budgets
  • Working effectively within the facilities management team and ensuring your area of responsibility is maintained to the highest standard
  • Any other business as required

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified to a minimum Level 3 Professional Cookery standard
  • Proven track record in kitchen management.
  • HS&E Food Hygiene Certificate
  • Ability to create new menus
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Self-confidence and self starter
  • Ability to maturely express opinions in normal, aggressive or stressful situations or conflicts, regardless of the status of participants
  • Ability to persuade, negotiate and complete
  • Full clean driving licence
