Job Introduction:

This position description assumes that the individual has satisfied all basic requirements for employment by G4S Secure Solutions (Canada) Ltd., including, but not limited to: security licence validation and criminal police information check as applicable (CPIC), credit reference(if applicable), background check, minimum age, and minimum education (high school diploma or foreign equivalency, or earned GED).  Additionally, this job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by this employee.  The individual in this position is required to follow any other instructions and perform any other duties requested by this position’s management.

G4S Secure Solutions is Canada's leading provider of security solutions. Our company specializes in hiring and training security professionals to meet all of our client’s needs. At G4S we have partnered with many major companies in securing office buildings, commercial properties, warehouses, distribution centers, financial services/banking properties, and transportation and logistics sites. Currently we are seeking Part-Time/Casual Patrol Security Supervisor for a selection of our client’s sites. 

Specific Duties Performed and Essential Functions

  • Respond to alarms, patrol and other duties and situations at contracted premises as per individual directives and standards
  • Respond to emergencies at client facilities
  • Support and supervise security guards at contracted facilities as required through regular site visits
  • Ensuring that supplies and equipment at client sites is maintained
  • Comply with strict key control procedures
  • Prepare reports and administrative documents
  • Administer first aid/CPR as required
  • Ensure that patrol related equipment including vehicles and communication equipment is maintained
  • Assist communications in ensuring all contracted hours of coverage are met
  • Identify site training needs and assist or conduct training as directed by branch leadership
  • Ensure uniform is in accordance with G4S policy and a clean presentable image is displayed at all times
  • Assist in the training of new Patrol Supervisor hires
  • Assist with branch administrative functions when required

The Ideal Candidate:

Essential Employment Requirements:

  • Possess a high school diploma or its equivalent and preferably have completed post-secondary education in security, policing or a related field
  • 2 years minimum security experience
  • Possess a valid Ontario Driver’s License (G) class
  • Minimum 25 years old for insurance purposes
  • Possess a valid Ontario Security Guard License
  • Possess a current First Aid/CPR Level C Certification
  • Previous security supervisory experience is considered an asset
  • Ability to coach and direct field staff for improved performance and apply disciplinary measures accordingly
  • Excellent attendance record, and ability to assume on call status when required
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a uniform at a high standard of neatness
  • Clean driving record required. Ability to supply clean drivers abstract annually.
  • Proven ability to prepare clear, concise reports through strong written and spoken English
  • Be poised, tactful and diplomatic and have the ability to make decisions and exercise good judgment under stress and in emergency situations;
  • Ability to  work independently and make decisions without guidance within scope of authority
  • Position requires shift work including on call services for alarms as required
  • Must complete G4S Driver’s training course if successful in order to proceed– at no cost to applicant
