Job Introduction:

The world’s leading private security organization, G4S, has an immediate job opportunity for a Business Development Specialist.  As a Business Development Specialist, you will be responsible for driving new business development by prospecting within an assigned vertical market to uncover and develop new customer relationships while meeting aggressive monthly sales targets.  You will need to identify, nurture, and close opportunities with new customers, manage forecasts on a quarterly basis, track new and prospective customer data, and introduce solutions to new markets.  You will be in a strong performance-driven position that will require working cooperatively with internal and external partners to improve the sales process, identifing solutions that serve the best interests of our customers and G4S, and quickly meet defined closed sales objectives.

Role Responsibility:

  • Work with field offices to help drive business in the local marketplace.
  • Manage forecasts, close deals, and track customer data using company standard CRM tools.
  • Take responsibility for growing new business relationships and acquiring new business opportunities.
  • Meet assigned sales target.

The Ideal Candidate:

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

  • Must have a college degree in Business, Marketing, or other closely-related major

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

  • Minimum of 2 years business to business (B2B) experience selling a product and/or service
  • Demonstrated ability and prior successful experience in making cold sales calls, converting prospects to sales, and setting appointments for outside representatives when necessary
  • Demonstrated drive to develop new account relationships and the ability to successfully close sales quickly

Skills Required

  • Strong ability to utilze Microsoft Word and PowerPoint for building presentations

  • Must not use illegal drugs. Must be able to pass a drug test with negative results (except when undergoing documented medical treatment). 
  • Must be able to pass an extensive background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications, and Department of Motor Vehicle and credit checks if applicable
  • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military

Physical Requirements and Environment

Environment:         Mostly indoor with minimal outdoor exposure to extreme cold/heat.

Major activity:        Working on computer while sitting, standing, speaking, walking, listening 

Physical efforts to carry out job duties:  Limited to include some standing, bending, light lifting up to 10 pounds, and limited stretching and reaching.
