Our MOJ contract provides more than 150 maintenance, catering, cleaning, security and energy management services to over 340 court, tribunal and administration buildings across the Midlands, Wales and the North of England.

We are actively seeking to recruit an Assistant Project Manager for our MOJ contract in the North West. The successful candidate will amalgamate and develop all delivery elements for construction works and ad-hoc services within the defined contract region to the MoJ Estate in support of the TFM Contract.  In addition, you will partnership with Regional Project and Operational Managers, Service Delivery Managers and the MoJ Estates Team.

This is a permanent role working on a full time basis, Monday to Friday.

Role Responsibility:

  • To assist/advise/plan and help coordinate all project works indicatively up to £50k however tasks are assigned based on risk.
  • Assist Regional Managers with high risk quote tendering and subsequent works installation including monitoring for quality and performance of suppliers
  • Liaise with clients to identify and define project requirements, scope and objectives
  • Review client instructions and where necessary assist or develop suitable documentation to obtain competitive sub-contractor quotations.  Subsequently prepare quotations for submission to client in line with their requirements and current Contract formats
  • Review provision and supply of quotations, using best suited internal and external suppliers, verifying value for money before seeking client approval
  • Supply updated information to maintain the G4S Project Tracker and the operational CAFM system on a daily basis to ensure that all task and works related data is maintained to an acceptable standard.
  • Manage resources to meet daily delivery schedules and business requirements for services within the prescribed budget minimizing financial performance deductions.
  • Ensure all Project services resulting from PPM or Reactive works above Threshold including, but not limited to Fabric and M&E works are met
  • Assist and, as necessary, lead the development of skilled teams to meet operational and business needs in a customer focused manner.
  • Liaise with RM’s, PM’s, Clients Estates Team Members, BSM’s & SDM’s offering technical advice and knowledge regarding Construction Works issues ensuring contractual obligations are met. Agree within the team the priority of works in order to meet business critical requirements
  • Attend Client meetings, as directed by Regional Managers, in relation to Project Works delivery.
  • Attend Client facing Regional Monthly Meetings with SDM’s, Business Support Managers and/or Regional Manager.
  • Proactively develop and maintain an effective working relationship, ensuring the Client’s needs are understood, such that it enhances the company’s reputation by fostering an environment of continuous improvement to maximize our customer satisfaction.
  • Review and sign off project specific RAMS
  • Provide strategic analysis on pipeline projects


The Ideal Candidate:

Essential Skills and Knowledge

  • Relevant experience in a similar role
  • Able to work effectively alone or as part of a team
  • Experience of site works monitoring with installation inspections and measurement.
  • Budget management experience and commercial awareness
  • Experience of Client facing Project Works services across a diverse multi-site portfolio.
  • Experience of managing multiple site project works.
  • Able to effectively manage conflicting priorities.

Desirable Skills and Knowledge

  • H & S Certification IOSH
  • Positive approach to cross-functional working
  • Experience of working within Total Facilities Management (TFM) contracts
  • Use of National Schedule of Rates (NSR) measures
  • Membership of professional body RICS / CIOB / CIBSE / BIFM / IET
  • Small Works variation and final accounting
  • Degree/ HND equivalent
